Technical Project Architect

MG2 is looking for a talented Technical Project Architect located in our Seattle office. This position will be part of our Practice studio.

MG2 partners with businesses around the world to create meaningful transformation through architectural services, planning, interior design, brand strategy, and consulting services. MG2 is consistently ranked among the largest architecture firms in the nation and among the top retail design firms in the world. MG2 serves clients around the globe from four offices: Seattle, WA; Irvine, CA; Washington, DC and Shanghai.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads technical development of projects (Similar to bullet point below, but this stresses the ability to lead)
  • Develops technical solutions, including constructability and detailing
  • Participate in creating and implementing studio level Quality Control program
  • Develop and deliver training programs related to technical design
  • Coordination with engineering team on development and improvement of prototype design solutions
  • Participate in development prototype documents for national accounts
  • Participates in development of team / studio technical standards, details, and templates
  • Pursues innovation and research and development in technical solutions
  • Implements sustainable design
  • Handles Quality Control of project documents (internal team review)
  • Supports local and regional offices in code and technical design issues
  • Participates in client communication (should this be a responsibility?)
  • Plays active role in mentoring and training staff

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or equivalent
  • 5 - 7 years of relevant experience
  • Preference given to candidates with current architectural license.
  • Demonstrated understanding, selection, and integration of building systems
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit software
  • Demonstrated experience in coordination of construction materials with vendors and material suppliers
  • Demonstrated understanding of building codes, building systems, and construction material standards
